About Us
Symmetry Arts is an arts organization that teaches the discipline of dance to students ranging in experience and in background.
Symmetry Arts believes that dance aids in discovering self-identity and strives to instill confidence and purpose within each student. Students enrolled in Symmetry Arts’ classes will become movers who are well balanced — talented technicians and confident individuals.
About the Director
Shianne Williams-Brown began her relationship with dance at age three in Baltimore, MD. After years of valuable training, she graduated from Towson University in 2016 with a BFA in Dance Performance, Choreography, and a K-12 Teaching Certification. While at Towson, she had the privilege to study under Vincent Thomas, Runqiao Du, Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, Christopher K. Morgan, Alia Kache, and other influential teaching artists. She has taught dance for thirteen years at institutions such as Mercy High School, Dance and BMore, Young Audiences’ Summer Arts Learning Academy, Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center, and various studios. Williams-Brown directed the dance program at William Penn Senior High School in York, PA for two years. She has performed with Deep Vision Dance Company, Humanistics Dance Company, and LucidBeings Dance. Williams-Brown is currently a company member in BlueShift Dance and GRIDLOCK Dance, a Wolf Trap Early Learning Teaching Artist, the Co-Founder of the Black Choreographers Festival, the owner of Symmetry Arts, and authors dance reviews for her very own Charm City Dance Blog.
